Description: Binny Craig, 0.4 km. west of Oatridge, Ecclesmachan. West Lothian. A general view of crag from south-west showing steep westerly face of the quartz-dolerite sill and the dip slope to the east. Looking north-east. Below the precipitous face the shales have been scooped out by glacial erosion to form a deep hollow. The sill dips to the east at 25 degrees. In hand specimen the rock is a fresh, compact dolerite of greyish-black colour, sparingly porphyritic with small feldspars and augites up to 2 mm. in diameter.
