This consists of four concentrate frames (in background) feeding two revolving frames (middle distance) which, in turn, feed two vanners (one seen right). The light streaks on the vanner belt are slime grade cassiterite concentrate. The slimes plant is part of the processing that separates the extremely fine particles derived from the ore. The vanners are the slightly inclined endless belts onto which the feed is introduced with a water wash. The vanner has a rapid shaking motion from side to side. The gangue or waste minerals are washed downslope while the tin concentrate because it is heavier clings to the rubber surface of the belt until it is carried over and washed into the concentrate hopper of the vanner. |
