Description: Lower Swell, near Stow on the Wold. Spa Cottages, Lower Swell. An example of Stonesfield ('Cotswold') Slate roofing, and Guiting Stone carved for the ornate door and window mouldings. The buildings were erected on the site of a chalybeate spring, from the Middle Lias Marlstone, in an unsuccessful attempt to develop a spa - 'Stow Spa'.
