Description: | Oblique aerial view of Fenton Tower, Kingston. East Lothian. Looking north. The tower sits on lava scarps, part of the Carboniferous (Calciferous Sandstone Measures) Garleton Hills Volcanic Rocks. It has been suggested that as the area lies on the subsurface extension of the Southern Uplands Fault-zone, a magma chamber may have developed along this zone of weakness large enough for it to have produced the basic magmas. |
