Description: On River Taff, below Craig-yr-Esg, near Pontypridd. Looking SE. Pot-holes in Pennant sandstone. The season (summer of 1913) was exceptionally dry, but in winter times like these sandstones are frequently covered with water. The banks of the Taff are fringed with river gravels and glacial deposits which furnish abundant scouring material.
