Description: Cliff about 150 yd. W. of Yaverland Battery, Sandown Bay. Looking N. Contortions in Wealden Marls, Yaverland. Red and purple clays with obliquely-bedded and contorted bands of fine white and yellow sand and silty sand. The contortions are not improbably due to 'subaqueous gliding' during the deposition of the Marls. Length of walking-stick is 35 inches.
