The white lines below the artificial. Overlying the sandstone is shale, seen on the left of the picture and containing a marine band belonging to the zone characterized by the goniatite Reticuloceras recticulatum mut B. In the recess on the right is sandstone and shale, about 8 ft., and then a coal seam which forms the top of the Revidge (3rd) Grit. |
