Description: | SE coast, Sully Island. Looking N. Triassic - Carboniferous unconformity, Sully Island. Red Triassic strata in the background with a small fault in top right of photograph. Carboniferous 'Black Rock Dolomite' in the foreground dips north-east at 45 degrees The 'planed-off' surface represents the exhumed Triassic land surface. Small pebbles and flakes of Carboniferous Limestone in calcareous sandstone matrix cover the limestone on the left, the figure on the right (height 1.7 m.) is standing on a surface of bare limestone. The basal Triassic Clastic Unit can be seen to thicken towards the left. |
