Description: Pass of Glen Lyon, 3.2 km. or so west of Fortingall, 15.2 km. west of Aberfeldy, Perthshire. Gorge and pot-holes cut in Dalradian Ben Lawers Schist. The Ben Lawers Schist consists of metamorphosed sedimentary rocks called pelites with calcareous pelite bands. They form a continuous band from Tyndrum to Glen Lyon and beyond to the Glen Shee area. The gorge here is very narrow with deep pools.
