Description: Oblique aerial view of Lairig Gartain, view looking south-west from the Devil's Staircase towards Loch Etive. Inverness-shire. The valley follows a major shatter belt parallel with Loch Linnhe. The view shows a strong linear feature due to selective erosion along fault line/shatter belt. The fault passes through crags of lava with small granite stock in the middle of the picture; background peaks of Loch Etive are of the Ben Cruachan granite mass.
