Caption: Stirlinghill quarry.
Description: A large quarry in Peterhead granite worked previously as a building stone and as aggregate. The current expose face is approximately 100m long and there are two benches of up to 10m in height. The floor of the quarry is partly submerged, although the water has previously been pumped. The granite is predominantly pink although there are some dark mafic cm-scale xenolith.
