Description: Sandend, 200 m. NW of harbour. Basal limestone of Sandend 'group', Ballachulish Subgroup, Appin Group (Lower Dalradian). Cream-weathering, finely laminated limestone is of very shallow water origin and possibly stromatolitic. Detail of very sharp contact and interleaving with black, graphitic pelite.
