Description: 200 m. N. of Bwlchystyllen, about 4 km. E. of Bontgoch. Westerly view along the Camdwr Fault from near Bwlchystyllen. The northern branch of the Camdwr Fault passes under the viewpoint and approximatly along the northern shore of the lake (Llyn Craigypistyll). The southern branch of the fault passes approximately along the southern shore of the lake and joins the northern branch to pass through the gap in the skyline. The fault has a northerly downthrow and carries local lead/zinc mineralisation. The smooth slopes in the foreground and middle distance north of the fault are underlain by mudstones of the Lower Llandovery Series which are succeeded in the scarp (skyline, right) by mudstones and sandstones of the Middle and Upper Llandovery Series. The crags on the south side of the lake are formed by mudstones and sandstones of the Ordovician Brynglas and Drosgol Formations.
