Description: River Rheidol, 1010 m. upstream of Capel Bangor Halt. Looking SE. Gravel deposits in the River Rheidol. View looking upstream towards the east bank of the River Rheidol across gorse-covered recent gravelly point bar alluvium. The forested hills beyond are composed of alternating sandstones and mudstones of the Devil's Bridge Formation. The cliff, 5 m. high, is a cross-section through ? fluvioglacial deposits, which give rise to a level terrace-like surface. A thin cap of overbank alluvial silt rests on ? fluvioglacial gravels, which contain paler-coloured steeply-dipping sandy foresets near the base.
