Description: Viewpoint, about 1 m. S. of Sanford Orcas. Looking N. View from the Sanford Orcas looking northwards toward Corton Denham. The chief feature seen is the escarpment of the Inferior Oolite which terminates (centre background) at Corton Beacon. To the left of Corton Beacon is seen the isolated mass of Yeovil Sand known as Parrock Hill. The skyline on the left is Corton Ridge, the escarpment of the Junction Bed. To the right of Corton Ridge the dip-slope of the Junction Bed falls eastwards to the valley leading from Corton Denham to Sanford Orcas. The valley is floored largely by silty and sandy clay forming the lower part of the Yeovil Sands.
