Description: Willstone Hill, 2 m. ENE of Church Stretton Station. Looking SE. Looking across bracken-covered slopes of Uriconian rocks to Apedale. The batch in the middle distance with small crags is excavated rhyolite. The low ground of Apedale consists of Silurian rocks, mostly Wenlock Shales, behind which rises Wenlock Edge, the lower of the two escarpments with wooded crests. This is formed of Wenlock Limestone. The higher escarpment is made by the Aymestry Limestone. The distant summit is that of Titterstone Clee consisting of Coal Measures capped by basalt.
