Description: Lynbridge, West Lyn River, gorge (c. 40 yd. upstream of the bridge). Looking NE (downstream). North Exmoor floods, 1952. The bridge is built on solid and its side abuts against solid Lynton Beds. Elsewhere all building is based on head and bouldery alluvium and has sustained damage. The large building with the lower part washed out is the Old Cottage Inn (see also A8698). The building furthest downstream is the old mill (see A8700).
