Description: Lynbridge, West Lyn River, gorge (c.40 yd. upstream of the bridge). Looking NE (downstream). North Exmoor floods, 1952. The bridge is built on solid and its right side against solid Lynton Beds. Elsewhere all buildings based on head and bouldery alluvium and has sustained damage. The large building with the lower part marked out is the Old Cottage Inn (see also A8699). The building furthest downstream is the old mill (see A8700).
