Description: Sand-pit at Newlands, about 1 1/2 m. S. of Charing. Looking N. Current-bedding in Folkestone Sands. A view further to the east on the same face as in No. A8499. The dip of the current-bedding at this point has a strong westerly component over the lower part of the face, with a subsequent change in direction of the currents depositing the sands indicated by the more or less horizontal lenticular layers entering across the overlying the lower beds.
