Description: S. coast of Sully Island. Looking W. Triassic strata resting unconformably upon Carboniferous Black Rock Dolomite at Sully Island. The cliff is capped by the pale grey Carbonate Unit of the 'Marginal ' Triassic with cryoturbated red marl forming the higher ground on the island. Massively-bedded Black Rock Dolomite is seen beneath the plane of unconformity and the seaweed-covered reefs on the left of the photograph represent the approximate inland limit of Carboniferous Limestone, the Triassic strata steeping down unevenly to the south. The coast from Barry Island to Hayes Point is seen in the background.
