Description: Lavernock Point. Looking W. Lower Lias strata at Lavernock Point. Alternating limestones and shales of the basal Liassic 'Lower Limestones'. Flat-bedded limestones at base of the face are the 'Ostrea beds'. The Penarth Group (Triassic) lies immediately beneath the paper-shale horizon at the base of the cliff. Storm beach of Lias limestone in foreground. Height of face 9 m.
