Description: | East Pool Mine. East Pool Mine: Lorings Lode. Lorings Lode, in granite country, is up to 6 ft. wide in places but it converges westward towards and pinches out against an elvan dyke. The exposure in the 1,700 ft. crosscut north, shows the lode, very narrow between elvan on the left and granite on the right. The hammer handle is in a drill hole on the lode, which is nearly vertical. The difference in the texture and in the mode of fracture of the elvan and the granite can be seen but the lode is not well-defined in the photograph. |
