Caption: East Dartmoor. Looking NE.
Description: East Dartmoor. Looking NE. Granite scenery: Hound Tor, Dartmoor. A castellated ridge of porphyritic granite traversed by joints trending north-west to north-east; many of the 'flows' are inclined. This is, perhaps, the most picturesque tor on Dartmoor. (The posts were placed to stop enemy aeroplanes from landing on the moor.)
