Description: Small pit W. of workhouse, about 1 1/4 m. W. of Faversham, (Cremer Whiting and Co.). Looking W. Compact Head Brickearth, worked for brickmaking. Note the roughly columnar structure and the tendency to split into even and coherent lumps. Near the base the brickearth becomes more loamy, approaching sands of the Thanet Beds which underlie it.
