Description: In cliff, Stud Hill, just below Coastguard Station between Swalecliffe and Herne Bay. Septarian nodules in London Clay. The nodules occur singly or in rough beds. Cracks in the nodules have crystalline calcite deposited as an infilling and when broken across these flat divisional planes of calcite show to advantage (white in the photograph).
