Description: Holborough Cement Works Quarry. Lower Chalk quarried down to Gault clay. The chalk is loosened into screes which are dug away mechanically - see A7885. In the immediate foreground Gault forms the quarry floor. The darker streak sloping gently to the right from the stream navvy marks the top of a bluish bed, with hard limestone courses, at the base of the Chalk Marl.
