Description: Medway Brick Quarrying Co.'s Sand-pit, Upnor. Looking N. Lower London Tertiaries. A close view of part of the top of the face of the pit shown in A7871. The dark upper layer is a slipped mass of stony London Clay resting on the top part of the Woolwich Beds. The lower part of the dark layer may actually be the London Clay Basement Bed; Blackheath Beds are apparently missing here.
