Description: Viewpoint, old quarries, 1 m. E. of Runcorn Station. Looking E. In the foreground disused quarries in the freestone beds of the Keuper Sandstone. A thick marl parting known as the 'footprint' bed occurs near the base. A fault passes behind the quarry and to the right of the hill in the distance. The distant higher ground at Halton is the escarpment of the Keuper Sandstone resting on the softer Bunter Sandstone which forms the slopes.
