| Description: | Sand-pit, 400 yd. S. of Ford Place, 1 m. SSW of Trottiscliffe. Looking SE. Folkestone Sand with ironstone-sandstone complex. The sand is streaked with thin seams of more firmly cemented sand particles. At the top is a curious bed consisting of ironstone, largely tabular, and white tabular sandstone, closely associated and inclined in a south direction (into the face). This appears as a complex of tabular layers fractured in situ. A similar instance is seen in A7143. |
