Description: Talbot Estates Sand-pits, N. of Borough Green Station. Looking ESE. Basal beds of the Gault. Details of the Gault capping the section in A7121, A7123, and A7124. The upper part consists of dark sandy clay with phosphatic nodules mainly in bands (the clay is highly glauconitic and actually dark green to purplish in colour). Below this, showing lighter in the photograph, are a few feet of coarse brown clayey loam which passes into Folkestone Sand (not seen in the photograph). See also A7122, and A7123.
