Description: Talbot Estates Sand-pits, N. of Borough Green Station. Looking E. Pit in Folkestone Sands. The section shows lithological details. The sand is fine and white, pure and current-bedded, and is seen to be cut in many directions by seams of tabular sandstone. The latter varies in colour according to the amount of iron and its oxidation, consequently showing light or dark. The details are picked out well by weathering. A certain amount of iron-staining in the sand can be seen.
