Description: Llyn Cau, S. of Pen-y-Cader. Looking W. Llyn Cau and Craig Cau, south of Cader Idris. Llyn Cau Mudstones of Llandeilo age, at the end of the lake on right, are overlain by the lavas and ashes of the Upper Acid Group, which fill the rest of the view. The peak lies between Bwlch Cau to the right and Craig Cau to the left. Llyn Cau is a typical corrie lake, partially, if not entirely, dammed by moraine.
