Description: Viewpoint, W. of Llanberis. Looking SE. Snowdon from near slate quarries west of Llanberis. The summit - the peak in right centre - is 5 miles from the observer. To the left of view is the Pass of Llanberis. The strike of the strata is transverse to direction of view. The near shoulder to left is chiefly of Cambrian Bronllwyd Grits. The ridge beyond and a little left (Try-pan), and the hill on right of view (Mol-y-Cynghorion) are of Llanvirn Slates. In centre is Cwm Dur Arddu, in the Lower Rhyolitic Series of Snowdon. This is capped by the Bedded Pyroclastic Series, leading up to the summit.
