Llyn Teryn lies in a glaciated hollow in dolerite which rises into the dark hill on the right. To the left and in middle distance are rhyolitic tuffs of the Lower Rhyolitic Series of Snowdon, capped by the Bedded Pyroclastic Series. Moel Siabod in distance.
