Description: Furze Platt Gravel Pit. Looking E. Section in deposits of the Furze Platt stage of the Boyn Terrace of the Thames. Furze Platt. Even-bedded gravel and sand is overlain by unassorted stony loam perhaps of glacial origin. Part of the contorted gravel lines a solution hollow in the Chalk at the base of the terrace deposits. The paleolithic layer is level with the top of the screen.
