Description: Pearson's Gravel Pit, Dartford Heath. Looking NNE. Large Ironstone (from Pliocene beds) at base of old river channel, Dartford Heath. This block of stone was estimated to weigh upwards of a ton. It was water-worn and forms one of a series of erratics carried by this old stream before the Boyn Terrace deposits were laid down.
