Description: Pearson's Gravel Pit, Dartford Heath. Looking N. Boulders resting on the old channel gravels, Dartford Heath. Lines of scattered boulders have been exposed by excavation at the bottom of the old channel. These consist of large flints, sarsen stones, large Bunter quartzite, and the one figured of clayey haematite, probably of Pliocene age. The channel deposits are here well exposed. The two figures stand on the Thanet Beds in which the channel was cut.
