Description: Old quarry, Hapsford Bridge, about 1 1/2 m. NW of Frome. Looking W. Thrust fault in Carboniferous Limestone, and Jurassic unconformity. Vallis Vale, Frome. The steeply inclined beds are Caboniferous Limestone (Horizon j) which are traversed by a thrust fault. The sole of this thrust is shown by the light coloured slickensided face in the centre. The small cavity, half filled with Triassic material, was formed by solution in Triassic Carboniferous times along this line of weakness. Horizontal Inferior Oolite (truellei hemera) rests unconformably upon the Carboniferous Limestone.
