Description: Old quarry, Hapsford Bridge, about 1 1/2 m. NW of Frome. Looking W. Thrust fault in Carboniferous Limestone, and Jurassic unconformity. Vallis Vale, Frome. The steeply inclined beds are Carboniferous Limestone (horizon) which are traversed by a thrust fault. Part of the sole of this thrust forms the light coloured plane in the centre, and extends upwards past the cavity formed by solution along this line of weakness. Horizontally lying Jurassic rocks (Inferior Oolite, truellei hemera) unconformably overlie the Carboniferous Limestone.
