Description: Cheddar. Looking E. View from Cheddar Village, northwards over lake to the Gorge. The cliffs in the background are scarp slopes in vertically jointed Carboniferous Limestone. The dip is slight and to the right (south-south-east). The lake in the foreground is formed by the stream that cut the Gorge. This stream now flows beneath the floor of the Gorge and emerges at its southern end.
