Caption: Cheddar. Looking N.
Description: Cheddar. Looking N. Cliffs at south end of Cheddar Gorge. View near lower end of Cheddar Gorge, showing how imposing cliffs are due to the strongly vertical jointed Carboniferous Limestone (Seminula Zone). The dip, which is slight and towards the camera, has no direct effect in the production of the cliffs which are scarp features.
