The highly inclined and flexured beds at the base of the quarry consist of Carboniferous Limestone (Zaphrentis - lower Syringothyris Zones). Unconformably upon the planed-off edges of the Carboniferous Limestone rests a thin development of Rhaetic and sparry conglomeratic Lias. |
