Description: | Viewpoint above Voter Run, Strangles. Looking N. Cliff and islet scenery, coast north of Boscastle. The Culm Measure sandstones and shales are compressed, folded and contorted and locally veined with white quartz. The waves wear away the soft shales and so form caves and 'bridges' (one seen in the middle distance): the collapse of the roof or of the causeway leads to the insulation of a rock mass of islet, or even an island. |
