Description: West Bay. Looking NW. Coast between West Bay and Golden Cap. Near cliffs are Fuller's Earth, overlain by Forest Marble: junction (Rhynchonella Beds) shown as lower of 2 prominent thin beds three quarters distance up cliff face at highest point; above River Beds is 30 ft. of clay, overlain by flaggy limestones. A large fault brings up Middle Lias, sands and clays, forming cliffs beyond Eypesmouth; the margaritatus clays occupy lower part of cliff and are much obscured by slips of overlying sands. Golden Cap - flat topped cover of Greensand - visible on left, with Lyme Regis Coast beyond.
