Description: | Matterdale Beck. Looking SW. The Skiddaw-Borrowdale unconformity in Matterdale Beck. The unconformity is an irregular surface dipping at 25-30 degrees south-south-west and is eroded across steeply-dipping Skiddaw mudstones. The junction is exposed on the left by the hammer and crosses the stream below the waterfall, which is formed by basal Borrowdale conglomerates. |
