Description: Viewpoint, Underhill, East Knoyle. Looking SW. Outlier of Upper Greensand and Gault on Kimmeridge Clay: Duncliffe Hill, Shaftesbury. This outlier is due to sub-aerial denudation and to the presence of a slight syncline. The country around Duncliffe Hill has been eroded by the River Stour and its tributaries. See 'Geology of the country south and west of Shaftesbury' (Mem. Geol. Surv.), 1923, p.5 et seq.
