Description: Camber Ridges, Camber. Looking WNW. Detail of wind-blown sand-dunes near Camber. These coastal dunes are migrating inland under the infuence of onshore winds. Broom fences (middle distance) are built at right-angles to the direction of movement to trap the sand grains and to stabilize the dunes. This allows selected grasses to be planted which, it is hoped, will completely check the migration of the dunes. Walland Marsh and degraded cliff-line behind it are visible in the far distance.
