Description: Quarry 1 m. N. of White Lodge, about 1 m. N. of Goadby Marwood. Looking WNW. A different view of the same subject as A5557. [Small step-faults (or 'joggles') in the Marlstone rock-bed (ironstone of Middle Lias) causing the surface to appear to be serrated. The throws of the faults are down eastward. In this quarry 26 of these faults were exposed. The section shows boulder clay (covered by coarse grass) on Upper Lias Clays which have been stripped off the top of the Marlstone preparatory to blasting the latter before removal. The faults are hardly traceable in the overlying Lias Clay. (See also 'The Geology of the Melton Mowbray District' (Mem. Geol. Surv.), pp.43 and 46.)]
