Description: Barnfield Pit, Swanscombe. Looking SE. Cliff' bounding the Boyn Hill terrace. The light deposit behind figure consists of Thanet Sand, in which the cliff was cut. Against its sloping surface the terrace deposits rest - the Lower Gravel being reduced in thickness and the Lower Loam showing traces of lamination. The dark deposit at the top left is the base of the Middle Gravel.
