Description: Viewpoint, Westwood Road, Scarborough. Looking S. An outlier, Oliver's Mount, Scarborough, from Westwood Road. An outlier of Lower Calcareous Grit and Oxford Clay rising above the boulder clay platform. The valley (filled with houses in view) between the Mount and high ground to the west is a gorge cut by glacial waters coursing along the edge of the ice sheet southwards to enter Lake Pickering. It is utilized by the railway and main road south.
